PR-01 ยท NFC PRIVACY

PRIVACY, BY DESIGN

Last updated: July 31, 2026

THE SHORT VERSION

The Diode app and App Clip do not create an account, include advertising, track you, or send the contact details you enter to Diode. Card information is processed on your device.

INFORMATION ON YOUR DEVICE

The full app stores the card fields you enter in its private local storage so they remain available the next time you open it. The App Clip keeps edits only for the current experience. Removing the app removes its locally stored card fields.

NFC CARDS AND CONTACTS

When you choose to write a card, iOS sends the contact information and invocation URL to the NFC tag you select. Anyone with physical access to an unlocked tag may read or replace that information. When you choose Save Contact, iOS presents its contact editor; Diode does not read your contacts database.

WEB FALLBACK

A Diode NFC link may contain a name, company, phone number, email address, and website in the URL. If the link opens as a web page, our hosting provider may process standard request information, including the requested URL, IP address, browser information, and diagnostic logs. Website processing is covered by our general privacy policy.

YOUR CHOICES

You control whether to save a contact or write an NFC tag. You can clear stored fields in the full app, remove the app, or overwrite a writable NFC tag at any time.
